Put-in-Bay, a village on South Bass Island Ohio, makes for a very exciting island weekend getaway for families, nature lovers, geology and history fans, artists, lovers of good food and drinks, people who like camping. South Bass Island can only be accessed by ferry located in Port Clinton. There are few public beaches on the island. The best ones are the public beach at South Bass Island State Park or the beach that you can hike to at East Point Preserve. Both places offer small but nice beaches with beautiful scenery. Some of the island hotels have their own private beaches.

Put-in-Bay is a popular summer resort and recreational destination.

South Bass Island is located on Lake Erie and is 2.5 by 5 miles in size. It can only be accessed by ferry located in Port Clinton, Ohio. ⁠⁠When you get there, you will be amazed by the number of activities the village has to offer! Golf carts and bicycles to rent, numerous restaurants and bars, wineries, shops to buy unique gifts, places of interest to explore.

Perry's Victory & International Peace Memorial is one of the most favorite tourists' spots with fabulous views from the tower. It is dedicated to the friendship between the US and Canada. Go to the Visitor’s center to watch a 15-minute movie about the history of the War of 1812.

Adults, kids, and nature lovers will definitely be impressed by Butterfly House at Put-in-Bay! A relaxing park with beautiful gardens and a fountain, and over 50 types of exotic butterflies from all over the world. You will feel blessed sitting on the butterfly seats and looking at those small creatures flying around you! There is also a great gift shop with many cute gifts and pretty decor items.

Fascinating Perry's Cave, “delicious” Chocolate Museum, DeRivera Park with fantastic views are also the places for visitors to explore in Put-in-Bay.

When in Put-in-Bay, you can stay at Harriet's House & Island Suites. Built in 1878, it is one of the first residences here. Perfect location to all the places of interest. The hotel can accommodate up to 90 people in its townhouses, lodge rooms, bungalows, island suites, and in the original house. They don’t serve food but there are lots of restaurants and bars within walking distance: The Forge, Pasquales Cafe, Reel Bar, and more!
