Getaway Description

Hocking Hills State Park presents its visitors with over 25 miles of hiking trails, rock formations, waterfalls, and recess caves. The trails are open from dawn to dusk, all year round, including holidays.

The park is very scenic. You should definitely visit Old Man's Cave, Ash Cave, Rock House, Cedar Falls, Rock Bridge, Cantwell Cliffs, and Conkle’s Hollow. Most of these have shorter, accessible paths available. But be ready to climb quite a few stairs.

There is also a beautiful Rose Lake inside the state park. Very nice, calm, and quiet place to sit and fish.

In the winter months, the park is also worth visiting. You can see huge icicles hanging from frozen waterfalls and snow-covered trees. Hike the winter trails, or go ice-fishing. Dress warm!

There is no charge for entry to the park, but camping is reservable. Be sure to reserve a place for you well in advance because it is a popular spot.

There are plenty of choices for places to stay near Hocking Hills State Park.

You can stay at camping sites that are primitive, or just electric and water or fool hook up. Your choice! They are available all year round! There are also 40 cabins available, each sleep six. Some of them even have hot tubs and fire pits!

The Inn & Spa at Cedar Falls is only a 20-minute walk from Hocking Hills State Park. There are rooms, cottages, yurts, and cabins. 38 rooms overall. All rooms are decorated in an antique style and feature a bathroom, a balcony, and other amenities. The Inn has a spa, an on-site restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
