Getaway Description
Hawks Nest State Park is a 270-acre recreational area with a nature museum, aerial tramway, jetboat rides, numerous hiking trails, and one of the most challenging whitewater rafting experiences.
You can ride the aerial tramway from the top of the New River Gorge canyon at Hawks Nest Lodge. From the Tram, ride a Jet Boat to see the famous New River Gorge Bridge from the river below and the Hawks Nest dam. The view of the New River from the Main Overlook is splendid.
The park also offers various activities for outdoor lovers. You can go boating, swimming, and fishing on Jimmy's Beach, hiking, mountain biking, bicycling, rock climbing, play tennis or have jet boat rides. There is also a playground for kids, a gift shop, and a museum. Winter activities include cross-country skiing and snowmobiling. Besides, various nature and recreation programs are conducted in season.

You can stay at Hawks Nest Lodge located right inside the park. The lodge has 31 rooms with spectacular river or mountain views. All the rooms feature comfortable beds, private bathrooms, air conditioning, refrigerators, microwave, coffee machines, flat-screen TVs, hairdryers. Most of the rooms have private balconies.
Property amenities include an outdoor swimming pool, mini-golf, great recreation terrace, a playground with slides for kids. The onsite restaurant provides complimentary breakfast and stunning views.
